Sales Entry

The operation of any retail business can be enhanced by updating sales, accounting, and inventory records as soon as new information becomes available. Employees then have instant access to the current information they need to better serve customers, and managers have the up-to-the-minute data they need to make effective business decisions. The Sales application supplies today's specialized merchandisers with price list and variable pricing management, cash and charge accounts, and delivery management.

Features and Benefits

  • Provides a Point of Sale system that captures information like completed cash or charge sales and orders.
  • Prints a detailed, itemized receipt or invoice for cash and charge sales.
  • Contains an easy to use, dynamic inventory lookup window to assist with searching. Allows for searching by most commonly used key words where additional key words can be added to assist with the selling process. Other searches include by product number, class, slot, vendor and vendor product number (10 different ways).
  • Using a special "sales only" search feature, use up to 3 key words with wildcards for your search. For example, SPR* DRY* KI* will narrow your search down to only products with those three key words.
  • Provides on-line integration with Inventory Control to maintain a perpetual inventory level information by automatically updating item information each time a transaction dealing with inventory levels is completed.
  • Gives you the capability to print an invoice immediately or at some time in the future, from the same or a different station.
  • Provides management with informative details about written and delivered sales for individual sales representatives.
  • Complete management tools for delivery requirement including cash on deliveries, picking tickets, partial delivery, will calls, etc.
  • Sales from one location can be sourced at delivery time from multiple inventory stocking locations, (i.e. sales floor, warehouse, or other stores).
  • Offers on-line integration with Accounts Receivable to automatically look up account names and addresses, set up deliveries for specific customer jobs, check credit for aging and limits assigned by management to force management approvals for overrides.
  • Provides an optional printer selection for cash tickets on a slip printer or invoice printer to print in detail or as a package.
  • Allows you to program special pricing for particular customers. Up to 1,000 different jobs per customer can be priced at a given price level matrix.
  • Price matrix capability gives you the flexibility to offer product discounts to specified customers on any number of groups of merchandise. All other groups of products are priced at a single specified price (discount) level, plus or minus a specified percent or at the quoted price.
  • Provides quick toggle for pricing alternate units of measure at the sales counter, i.e. by the piece, the thousand board feet, the foot or the roll.
  • Provides quick toggle between alternate units of measure for sales (i.e. when selling a box of nails at the box price).
  • Tracks cash sales made to charge customers.
  • Allows a sales representative to go directly into a product inquiry from a sales ticket that is being prepared, and then directly back into the ticket preparation.
  • Reports sales in a variety of formats, for example by customer within a customer group.
  • Calculates GST and PST sales tax for each item, and for the total ticket. Allows station sales tax overrides on individual items and for complete tickets. Gives you up to 36 different sales taxes to be applied and accounted for automatically.

  • Easily allows changes to be made to individual item quantities, pricing, and taxation, enhancing the speed of customer service.
  • Informs the sales representative immediately of out-of-stock products and provides an alternative item that is in stock. It displays the quantity on-hand, on-reserve and on-order, and allows the sales representative sell merchandise not in inventory.
  • Keeps cost and margin information out of the view of customers and sales representatives, unless management has given that sales representative specific authority to see costs and margins. Margin control is protected as a manager/owner function.
  • Allows re-pricing an order based on package pricing.
  • Integrates an easy to use special order process whereby a product being special ordered automatically has a purchase order created at the same time to reduce duplicate entry requirements.
  • Allows for creating cash accounts at POS to assist with tracking sales by customer.
  • Allows for pricing the order based on desired margin or by markup.
